The National Zoo

This morning my husband and I went to The National Zoo. It's a little bigger than the Roger Williams Zoo with a few different animals than what we have. My favorites were the giant pandas and the tigers. The pandas were awake and snacking on huge branches of bamboo. The baby panda was still sound asleep. There were also tiger cubs! They were born last August. They were very playful, chasing each other around under the watchful eye of their mom. The lion in the next enclosure over does not like them and was roaring loudly at them.

We walked about five miles this morning. I hit my 10,000 steps today before noon! Later we may take a walk in the other direction and see some monuments. Tonight I will meet all the other awardees from all over the country.
